Aquatics
Aquatics is divided into three major areas, with appropriate water safety & rescues being incorporated into all three areas.
1. Water familiarisation
Building confidence in and around water, basic movement in water, floating on front and back, development of basic breathing technique, development of flutter kick, development of basic freestyle & backstroke arm technique and deep water familiarisation.
2. Stroke Development (Beginning & Advanced)
Mastery of basic Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Survival Backstroke, Sidestroke & Butterfly techniques. Development of race diving ability. Out of water rescues, treading water and basic water safety knowledge and awareness are also covered.
3. Race techniques & conditioning
Emphasis on improving stroke efficiency, developing endurance and development of race strategies and techniques for improved performance. Advanced survival sequences are also covered.
